Just in time for Halloween, the Chicago Department of Transportation is playing “trick or treat” with motorists on DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
CDOT has announced that, weather permitting, it will be wrapping up its months-long resurfacing project on north DuSable Lake Shore Drive this week. There’s your treat.
But crews aren’t going quietly into the night: Motorists can expect daytime lane closures instead of the usual overnight blockages. Trick.
The final bit of work will take place Monday and Tuesday on the stretch between LaSalle Drive and Hollywood Avenue.
Here’s what to know about the timing and the affected areas:
— When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday and Tuesday.
— Where: Southbound travel will be reduced to two lanes between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. One lane will also be closed in both directions between Hollywood and Lawrence avenues.
All exit and entrance ramps will remain open.
