The schedule of DuSable Lake Shore Drive closures will ping-pong this week between northbound and southbound lanes, and resurfacing work will return to the far north end of the drive, too.
In another twist, a half marathon on Sunday in the Hyde Park area will shut down additional stretches of DuSable Lake Shore Drive:
— Northbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive: closed Sunday, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., from Marquette to I-55 northbound on-ramp.
— Southbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive: closed Sunday 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., from Marquette to 31st Street.
Here's CDOT's resurfacing schedule for the week:
In general, significant impacts begin at 7 p.m. and complete overnight lane closures kick in at 9 p.m., with lanes reopening at 6 a.m. the following morning.
According to CDOT, the resurfacing project is expected to be completed by late October.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 29 (southbound)
In effect through Sunday night: The southbound left lane will remain closed between Irving Park Road and Diversey Boulevard.
6 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
— All southbound lanes closed between Irving Park Road and Fullerton Avenue.
— All exit and entrance ramps will be closed in that same stretch.
— Traffic will exit at Irving Park and detour via Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Road and Cannon Drive.
MONDAY, SEPT. 30 (northbound)
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.:
— Only one northbound lane will be open between Lawrence and Hollywood avenues.
— All ramps will be open.
9 p.m. to 7 a.m.:
— All northbound lane will be open between Lawrence and Hollywood avenues.
— All exit and entrance ramps will be closed in this stretch.
— Vehicles will detour at Lawrence exit.
TUESDAY, Oct. 1 (northbound and southbound)
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.:
— Only one northbound and one southbound lane will be open between Foster and Hollywood avenues.
— All exit and entrance ramps will be open.
9 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
— All northbound lanes will be closed between Bryn Mawr and Hollywood avenues.
— All southbound lanes will be closed between Foster and Hollywood avenues.
— Northbound exit ramp at Bryn Mawr and southbound entrance at Foster will be open to detour traffic.
WEDNESDAY, Oct. 2 (southbound)
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.:
— Only one southbound lane will be open between Lawrence and Hollywood avenues.
— All exit and entrance ramps will be open.
9 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
— All southbound lanes will be closed between Lawrence and Hollywood avenues.
— All ramps closed along this stretch.
— Vehicles will detour at the southbound Lawrence entrance ramp.
THURSDAY, Oct. 3 (southbound)
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.:
— One southbound lane will be open between Irving Park and Fullerton Avenue.
— All exit and entrance ramps will be open.
9 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
— All southbound lanes will be closed between between Irving Park and Fullerton.
— All ramps closed along this stretch.
— Traffic will exit at Irving Park and detour via Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Road and Cannon Drive.
