Who said print is dead?
One of the hottest tickets this holiday season is passage on the Chicagoland Bookstore Trolley, spreading cheer one hardcover and paperback at a time.
It’s the inaugural year for the trolley, which brings together 43 independent booksellers in Chicago and the suburbs. The shops have been divided into 10 routes of four to five different stops — beginning and ending at the same location. The trolley is running weekends, Dec. 6-20.
Many of the 10 routes are already sold out.
As of publication, remaining available dates and times are Dec. 6, setting out at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Dec. 13 at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $52 per person. Bibliophiles will need to act fast to book one of the remaining routes.
