More than a dozen people were injured, including at least three seriously, after a crash between a CTA bus and a van in Chatham Friday morning.
Thirteen people were hospitalized following the collision, including three who were listed in serious condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The incident occurred near Cottage Grove Avenue and 79th Street.
Of the other people injured, seven were listed in fair condition and three were in good condition, according to the CFD. One of those people in good condition was a child, the CFD said, and the driver of the van involved in the crash left the scene without treatment.
The CTA temporarily rerouted 79th Street buses in order to avoid the crash scene.
