The stories that can be told on a stage are limited only by the storyteller’s imagination. That’s the beauty of theater.
But just who gets to write those stories and bring them to life on Chicago’s stages is too often limited to a privileged few.
Ricardo Gamboa counts playwright among his many roles in the theater scene. Here, he gives “la ultima palabra” on putting more Latinos and their stories in Chicago’s spotlight.
Gamboa’s play “The Wizards” — a supernatural thriller set in 2016 Pilsen is now on stage at APO Cultural Center, 1438 W. 18th St., through Nov. 14.
