A portion of northbound Lake Shore Drive reopened Tuesday after having been shut down for more than 24 hours because of two cracked steel beams.
City officials put a temporary fix in place to hold up the damaged bridge, and they provided some answers as to what exactly caused the problem.
But questions remain about the condition of the rest of the city’s bridges, especially in light of the recent extreme weather.
