Remembering Chicago Bluesman Eddy ‘The Chief’ Clearwater

Alligator recording artist and 2016 Blues Hall of Fame inductee Edward Harrington, aka Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, died Friday of heart failure, his family reports. He was 83 years old.

Funeral services for the Chicago blues star will be held Tuesday at Chicago Jewish Funerals in Skokie.

There will be two tributes honoring Clearwater over Chicago Blues Festival weekend: Friday night at Buddy Guy’s Legends (700 S. Wabash Ave.) and on Sunday morning at Blues for Breakfast at Motor Row Brewing (2337 S. Michigan Ave.).
