President-elect Donald Trump denies media reports that his transition team is in trouble. Mayor Rahm Emanuel says Chicago will remain a sanctuary city for undocumented immigrants despite Trump’s threats of cutting off federal funds.
Gov. Bruce Rauner and House Speaker Michael Madigan meet as lawmakers convene for the fall veto session. Chicago’s budget sails through City Council with a new bag tax and more parking meters. A delegation of Chicagoans heads to Rome to celebrate the elevation of Archbishop Blase Cupich to cardinal.
