Chicago police said 31 people were shot in 26 separate incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Two more people were killed in separate shootings early Monday morning.

The victims included 13-year-old and 17-year-old boys killed hours apart between late Friday and early Saturday morning.

Police said the 13-year-old was found on a bench with a gunshot wound to the head just before 10 p.m. in the 7000 block of North Sacramento Avenue. A witness who found the boy said he heard a loud pop followed by multiple people fleeing the area on foot. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.

Just after midnight on Saturday, the 17-year-old boy was shot in the 700 block of West 50th Street. A witness at that scene heard multiple shots fired outside their home and found the victim unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A 60-year-old man was killed following an incident onboard a CTA Red Line train just after 6 a.m. Saturday near the 0-100 block of West 87th Street. Police said the victim got into an argument with another man, when that man began firing several shots. The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died.

A 22-year-old man was killed inside a residence in the 1900 block of South Homan Avenue. He was sitting inside an apartment at around 5:15 p.m. Saturday when an unknown person entered and shot him in the back and chest. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

A 39-year-old female victim was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the body in the 8400 block of South Vincennes Avenue just before 11 p.m. Saturday. She later died at a local hospital.

Two people were shot, one fatally, inside a building just after 11 p.m. Saturday. The victims — a 27-year-old man and 25-year-old woman — were inside a third floor hallway when shots were fired. The man was pronounced dead on scene with a gunshot wound to the back. The woman was hospitalized in fair condition with a gunshot wound to her leg.

A 35-year-old man was fatally shot inside a lounge at the Hotel Lincoln in the 1800 block of North Clark. Police said a man shot the victim in the chest during a physical altercation just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to Illinois Masonic where he died.

A 20-year-old man was shot while standing on a sidewalk in the 6900 block of South Peoria Avenue just after 4 p.m. Sunday. He later died of his injuries.

Two more men — ages 43 and 54 — were killed in separate shootings early Monday morning. Police are also investigating the death of an 87-year-old woman who was found beaten to death inside an apartment Saturday in the 3200 block of South Prairie Avenue.
