The school district said those pre-K and cluster program students who have opted for in-person learning will return to their schools on Wednesday. Children and school-based staff were allowed to stay home Tuesday as parts of the city were hit with as much as 18 inches of snow.

According to CPS, bus transportation will operate as normal. All Child Learning Hubs and grab-and-go meal sites are also scheduled to be fully operational.

The National Weather Service expects single-digit to negative temperatures to continue overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Light snow could again hit Chicago by the afternoon, according to the NWS, which could result in slippery travel conditions.
