President Donald Trump is impeached for a second time as 14 congressmen from Illinois vote ‘yea.’ Nearly 30,000 National Guard troops have been sent to protect the Capitol and next week’s inauguration as law enforcement investigate riot and “intelligence failure.”

A monumental shift in Springfield as Rep. Michael Madigan relinquishes the speaker's gavel to Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch. Questions abound if the top Madigan lieutenant be independent? Meanwhile, the Illinois GOP exposes old allegations against the new speaker to discredit him.
