2 People Killed in Weekend Shootings Across Chicago: Police

A man who was fatally shot following a parking lot altercation on the Southwest Side was one of two people killed by gunfire over the weekend across Chicago.
According to Chicago Police Department data, 11 people were shot in 11 separate incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
A 41-year-old man was shot and killed at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday in the 4700 block of West 47th Street. According to police, he had gotten into a physical altercation with a pair of women in a parking lot in that area, when one of the women produced a handgun and shot the man in the armpit. He later died of his injuries at a local hospital.
Police said the woman had a concealed carry license and had turned herself in for questioning after the shooting.
A 44-year-old man was fatally shot in the 3000 block of West Taylor Street just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was found inside a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound to the face and was pronounced dead on scene. Police said Area Four detectives are investigating.
