3 Teens Among 8 People Killed by Gunfire Over Weekend in Chicago: Police

A 15-year-old boy killed in Little Village Sunday was one of eight people killed by gunfire over the weekend in Chicago.
According to Chicago Police Department figures, 29 people were shot in 25 separate shootings between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday. That included at least three teenagers who were killed by gunfire.
A 30-year-old man was fatally shot at around 6:15 p.m. Friday in the 2900 block of West Lexington Street. He was standing on the street when an unknown person opened fire, striking him multiple times.
Two 39-year-old men were shot, one fatally, just before 8 p.m. Friday in the 4700 block of South Ada Street. One of those victims was shot in the back and killed, while the second victim suffered a graze wound and was hospitalized in good condition.
Police responding to a report of shots fired in the 4500 block of North Albany Avenue just after midnight Saturday morning found a 47-year-old woman who had been shot in the head inside a residence. Investigators learned two men had been in an argument when one retrieved a firearm, which discharged, striking the woman. She was later pronounced dead.
A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in the 2200 block of South California Avenue just after 4 p.m. Sunday. Police said he was standing near a sidewalk when he was approached by a white vehicle and someone inside fired shots, striking him in the chest. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
A 20-year-old man was fatally shot at around 8 p.m. Sunday following an altercation in the 400 block of East 88th Place. He was involved in an argument with another man, who then produced a firearm and fired shots at the victim, killing him.
A 19-year-old man who was a passenger in a ride-hailing service vehicle was shot in the 1300 block of West Taylor Street at around 9 p.m. Sunday. He was approached by an unknown person who fired shots and fled on foot. The driver of the ride-hailing vehicle took the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
About an hour later, another 19-year-old man was fatally shot in the 1000 block of North Pulaski Road. Police responding to that area found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He later died at a local hospital.
