‘The Last Word’ on Saving Street Basketball in Chicago

‘The Last Word’ on Saving Street Basketball in Chicago

Every summer, Chicago’s parks come alive with children and adults enjoying the outdoors, and especially playing sports. But in recent years, basketball nets and even rims in some Chicago parks have been removed, leaving kids who want to play without a shot. My Block My Hood My City founder Jahmal Cole says that’s not fair. Here, he gives “the last word” on why bringing back basketball to our parks will lead to a safer city.

Cole is leading the Save Street Ball campaign to replace and restore rims and nets across city parks. You can find more information on the My Block My Hood My City website.
