After a string of picture perfect days, wild weather is expected to arrive in the Chicago region just in time for the weekend.
A strong system is moving into the area late Friday, bringing with it waves of showers on Saturday morning and wind gusts that could top 50 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
Things will settle down on Sunday, with the forecast calling for above-average temperatures in the 60s.
Keep an eye on the mercury Friday: If it hits the high end of the forecast range, it could tie or break the record of 74 degrees for Nov. 4 set in 2020.
Heads up! Strong winds will arrive early Saturday morning and last through sunset. Prepare for downed tree branches and scattered power outages. Have any loose Halloween decorations in your yard? Consider taking them down today! #ilwx #inwx pic.twitter.com/8rT0BunoVT
