Chicago brick enthusiast Will Quam, who runs the popular @BrickofChicago Instagram account, will lead a pair of virtual tours of Printers Row this weekend, and he's planned an unusual twist to the typical architecture walk that goes well beyond the facade.

Along with being treated to a detailed look at the neighborhood’s buildings and learning about the history of Chicago’s printing industry, tour participants will get to see some of that history spring to life during an actual printing demonstration from Jennifer Farrell of Starshaped Press.

Farrell’s Ravenswood letterpress studio is a throwback to a different era, where she uses antique equipment and type to create modern printed pieces, everything from exquisite limited-edition books to greeting cards.

The cost of tickets ($12) includes a print she specifically designed for the tour.

The tours are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. Click here for more information.
