The last 48 hours have been a frenzy of conflict and confrontation in the Little Village and Pilsen neighborhoods.
But just as it looked as though the conflict might boil over into carnage, community organizations scrambled to coordinate marches and demonstrations that brought factions together and restored a fragile peace.
We discuss the ways in which these communities came together to prevent violence with Chris Patterson, an outreach worker for the Institute for Nonviolence Chicago; and Raul Raymundo, CEO of the Resurrection Project in Pilsen.
