Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is known for his aggressive, pull-no-punches political style.
For the most part, the city’s 50 aldermen vote with Emanuel, but the mayor has garnered his fair share of criticism in City Council.
Some supporters of Emanuel have been appointed committee chairs by the mayor, including Ald. Joe Moore, 49th Ward, while some critics, such as Ald. Scott Waguespack, 32nd Ward, have been targeted by political action committees funded by the mayor’s allies.
How are the mayor’s friends and foes in City Hall responding to the news that he will not seek a third term?
Joining us to give their varying perspectives: Ald. Pat O’Connor, 40th Ward, who serves as the mayor’s City Council floor leader; Ald. George Cardenas, 12th Ward; Ald. David Moore, 17th Ward; and Ald. Scott Waguespack, 32nd Ward.
