This weekend, the 11th annual Chicago Travel & Adventure Show will be a source of travel inspiration, expert information, and fun, cultural interaction. The event runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, and from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday. Special guests include Travel Channel host Samantha Brown, best-selling author Cheryl Strayed, and CBS News Travel Editor Peter Greenberg. Cost for both days: (in advance) $17 or (on-site) $25.

This year, Blair Thomas will introduce Chicago to the inaugural International Puppet Theater Festival. Spanning 10 days, the festival will feature public performances across the city by artists from abroad and across the nation. Intuit is hosting the first Chicago retrospective for Mr. Imagination, Gregory Warmack. Inspired to enter the world of artistry after a mugging and subsequent coma, his art utilized found and discarded materials. The exhibition debuted last week and runs till April 25. To commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Chicago History Museum is putting on a day of free, family-friendly events. The event begins at 10:00 am Monday with artist Sue Romanelli and her kid-friendly crafts and concludes at 2:15 pm with Oba William King’s reenactment of the famous “I Have a Dream” speech.
