Nine preservation projects in Illinois, including three in Chicago, are being recognized as part of an annual awards program highlighting “exceptional preservation efforts,” the preservation nonprofit Landmarks Illinois announced Wednesday.
Chicago Vocational High School led Landmarks Illinois’ annual list of the state’s most endangered historic places.
The Century and Consumers buildings, long championed by local preservationists, have been jointly designated one of the 11 Most Endangered Historic Places in the U.S. in an annual list released Tuesday by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
A Catholic church in the Pilsen neighborhood is among 11 sites on this year's list of most endangered historic places in Illinois.
