At Least 3 Killed, 3-Month-Old Injured in Shootings Across Chicago Over Weekend: Police

Three people were killed and a 3-month-old boy was critically wounded in separate shootings over the weekend across Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department.
According to the Chicago Police Department, 21 people were shot in 19 separate incidents between Friday and Sunday evenings.
The 3-month old and a 21-year-old man were wounded in a shooting in the 3100 block of West 26th Street Saturday afternoon. According to police, the pair were inside a vehicle when they were approached by a second vehicle, which two men exited and then opened fire. The boy was struck in the chest and the 21-year-old was shot multiple times. Both were hospitalized in critical condition.
A 24-year-old man was killed in the 7800 block of South Cornell Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. Friday. Police said he’d been transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to the head and body. He was later pronounced dead.
Minutes later, a 40-year-old man was fatally shot inside a residence in the 100 block of North Lamon Avenue. The man was inside a basement apartment when he was shot by an acquaintance following a verbal altercation. The victim died of his wounds and the alleged shooter has been arrested.
One man was killed and another was wounded in an exchange of gunfire in the 4900 block of West Madison Street at around 4 a.m. Saturday. Police said the men were outside when they got into an altercation with a third man before all three opened fire. A 53-year-old man was killed and a 39-year-old was hospitalized in fair condition.
