14-Year-Old Boy Charged in 8 South Side Armed Robberies

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with several armed robberies that allegedly occurred over a three-week stretch on the South Side late last year.

The boy, whose name has not been released because he is a juvenile, was charged Monday with eight felony counts of armed robbery stemming from separate incidents between last November and December.

According to Chicago police, the boy was positively identified as the person who robbed multiple people at gunpoint.

Police said the victims included:

— A 30-year-old who was robbed Nov. 21, 2022 in the 7600 block of South Stony Island Avenue;

— A 23-year-old man who was robbed Nov. 22, 2022 in the 7600 block of South Stony Island Avenue;

— A 31-year-old man and 29-year-old man who were robbed Nov. 23, 2022 in the 7700 block of South Stony Island Avenue;

— A 23-year-old man who was robbed Nov. 26, 2022 in the 1500 block of East 77th Street;

— A 21-year-old man who was robbed Dec. 1, 2022 in the 1500 block of East 77th Street;

— A 17-year-old boy who was robbed Dec. 10, 2022 in the 8400 block of South Cregier Avenue;

— And a 19-year-old man who was robbed Dec. 11, 2022 in the 7800 block of South Stony Island Avenue.
