Candidate Statement

Hi, Sean Casten here. I am honored to serve as your Representative in Congress.

Across the district, we've had 23 public, free and open town halls and a ton more listening sessions, meetings, and events.

These opportunities are so important to me to ensure that I am accountable and accessible to the folks I represent.  And with a ton more events planned, I hope everyone has a chance to come and discuss the topics that matter most to you, your family and to our community.

Across the district, I've heard from constituents that they care about taking action to address the climate crisis, and receiving accessible and affordable health care, and ensuring that we support policies that grow our economy and build a 21st Century infrastructure.

And in DC, we're doing just that. One of the bills I was really excited to introduce, along with bipartisan support in the House and Senate, is the Climate Risk Disclosure Act, which requires public companies to disclose exactly how exposed they are to the climate crisis.

I also voted to protect Americans with pre-existing medical conditions, lower premiums, and reduce prescription drug costs, because I believe, and I think everyone believes that we should have access to affordable health care.

Finally, I'm proud to say I introduced a bill to help constituents affected by the Trump Tax Plan's  State and Local Tax deduction cap by getting rid of it.

Throughout my term, I remain committed to working for families across the district, and more importantly for future generations. Thank you for your support and your trust.
