Candidate Statement

Hello ladies and gentlemen.

My name is Jerry Evans. I am a small businessman, entrepreneur, and a man of God. I founded and own a music school of almost 300 students. I have a beautiful wife Lisa and an amazing son Michael. I am blessed to do what I love every day, and I love impacting our community, but after radical progressivist politicians in Washington continue to attack the freedoms and rights that make America great, I have put my small business on hold to run for Congress.

For 1—The Swamp and career politicians are dead-set on stopping the record-breaking economic progress that America has seen under President Trump. They want to turn America into a socialist regime of poverty, but I will fight against socialism and I will stand for the president and his agenda.

Secondly—Congress and the Representative for the 14th District need to focus on getting results for our families: like further reducing the taxes on our middle-class, and continuing to slash red tape for small businesses.

Finally—We need people that are willing to stand up for our values like ensuring the right to life for all unborn children, and protecting the most vulnerable among us.

As a small businessman, I know what it’s like, as so many of you do, to make payroll at the end of the week. I believe Congress must understand that they cannot continue to write blank checks and pass on the responsibility to my son, your children, and to future generations.

I promise to all of you, that I will take to Congress your values and your voice to stand strong and fight against the radical policies that Lauren Underwood, her “Squad,” and Nancy Pelosi seek to destroy our nation with.

I am Jerry Evans, and I humbly ask for your vote to bring more of the commonsense, business-minded, get-it-done approach to government which the President has proven is key to combating the career politicians and bureaucrats that currently infest the Swamp.  This is your House of Representatives, so let’s take it back.

Candidate Q&A

Why are you running?

My home District has lost its voice to the radical left and we need someone who truly represents the District. I am a man of compassion and I want to serve my community. As a millennial businessman, I understand that we need fresh faces and young people to take a stand for what is right. I'm committed to serving our community which is why I'm standing up for the District.

What is your vision for this office?

As a businessman, I believe the responsibilities of Congressman are extremely simple. If elected, my vision is focused completely on service and I promise that I will stand up for the values of the District. Currently, we have a Representative who is committed to partisan politics and has achieved very little to date. I want to bring the values of my community to the halls of Congress and serve the District.

What do you think is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?

While, I care deeply about many issues, including tax cuts, life, and immigration reform. I believe healthcare is the most pressing issue facing the District. We, as a nation, must address the fact that healthcare and prescription drug costs are too high. Too many Americans are unable to afford the care they need which is why I released my detailed policy plan to fix our broken healthcare system in January. My plan reduces the red tape from the ACA, creates better coverage for pre-existing conditions, and lowers prescription drug costs.
