Millennium Park’s 2026 Summer Film Series Includes Rob Reiner Tribute, ‘Sinners’ and ‘Devil Wears Prada’

The summer film series lineup at Millennium Park is here.

This year’s lineup features crowd favorites and milestone anniversaries, the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events announced Wednesday. 

The lineup includes a July 14 double feature of “When Harry Met Sally…” and “This Is Spinal Tap” as part of a tribute to the late Rob Reiner; a July 28 screening of “Hamilton” coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence; a 20th anniversary screening of “The Devil Wears Prada,” on Aug. 11; and “Sinners,” setting the record this year as the most Oscar-nominated film of all time, to close out the series on Aug. 18.

The film series runs most Tuesdays between June 30 and Aug. 18. There is no film screening on July 21. 

Here is the full schedule:

  • June 30 – “Independence Day” (1996, PG-13) — 30th anniversary
  • July 7 – “Ratatouille” (2007, G) — Kickoff to Taste of Chicago
  • July 14 – “When Harry Met Sally...” (1989, R) / “This Is Spinal Tap” (1984, R) — Tribute to Rob Reiner double feature
  • July 21 – No Film Showing
  • July 28 – “Hamilton” (2020, PG-13) — America 250th anniversary celebration
  • Aug. 4 – “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” (2001, PG-13) — 25th anniversary
  • Aug. 11 – “The Devil Wears Prada” (2006, PG-13) — 20th anniversary
  • Aug. 18 – “Sinners” (2025, R) 

All film showings are free.

Films are shown on a 40-foot LED screen at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Films start at 6:30 p.m.

Moviegoers can watch from the lawn or from the seating bowl. Audiences can also bring blankets, chairs and food.

DCASE also announced the return of Millennium Park summer workouts and the summer music series lineup. More information about summer programming can be found on its website.
