Chicago White Sox fans will have to wait one day longer for the team to open its season on the South Side.
The home opener scheduled for Thursday against the reigning American League champion Toronto Blue Jays was postponed due to weather. Thunderstorms are in the forecast for most of Thursday afternoon.
The game was pushed back to Friday at 1:10 p.m., according to Major League Baseball. All tickets purchased for Thursday’s game will be good for Friday with no exchanges needed.
The Sox are currently 1-4 for the season, but rookie Munetaka Murakami is providing a spark of excitement after homering in each of his first three games.
