Fight in Humboldt Park Results in Fatal Shooting, 2 People Stabbed, as 4 People Killed by Gun Violence in Chicago This Weekend: Police

A man shot Sunday during a fight on the grounds of Humboldt Park was one of four people killed by gun violence over the weekend in Chicago, according to Chicago Police Department data.
In total, 30 people were shot in 27 separate incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
Homicide victims include a 27-year-old man who was a passenger in a vehicle shot at Friday night in the South Austin neighborhood. An unknown person fired on the auto from a blue sedan in the 4700 block of West Lake Street at approximately 11:15 p.m. The victim was hit in the chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
On Sunday, shortly after midnight, a 47-year-old man was shot on the Near West Side. He was standing outside in the 700 block of South Campbell Street at approximately 12:15 a.m. when an unknown person fired from a passing vehicle. The victim was shot in the neck and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition where he later died.
Just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, a 19-year-old man was shot multiple times by an unknown person in the North Lawndale neighborhood. He was hit in the abdomen and leg while standing on the sidewalk in the 3500 block of West 12th Place and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he died.
Several people were injured during a fight on the grounds of Humboldt Park Sunday morning, at approximately 11:30 a.m. A 47-year-old man was shot in the back and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two other men were stabbed in the face during the fight, which took place in the 3100 block of West Luis Munoz Marin Drive. The men — 42 years old and 35 years old — are both listed in stable condition at Stroger Hospital.
