Butterfly sculptures have landed at parks across Chicago as part of the ongoing Flight of the Butterflies exhibit that kicked off this spring.

The nearly 20 sculptures had been clustered at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, sponsor of the exhibit, and have just been dispersed to various Chicago Park District natural areas, from the West Ridge Nature Park to Hegewisch Marsh, Columbus Park to the Burnham Wildlife Corridor. Another group landed on Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile.

Each butterfly is the work of a different artist, designed as an expression of their connection to nature.

Though butterflies are known to flit about, these particular versions will be staying put for a while, through September. Click here for a map of locations and information on individual artists.
