Sorry, snowbirds, there’s no chance of a white Christmas this year. In fact, Dec. 25 isn’t going to feel particularly wintry at all.
The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures 15 to 20 degrees above normal for the upcoming holiday weekend. The high on Christmas Day is expected to be an unseasonable 50-55 degrees.
That’s shorts weather for some Chicagoans, but a persistent chance of rain is likely to dampen the opportunity to fully bask in the relative warmth.

For comparison, the warmest Christmas Day in Chicago was 64 degrees in 1982. But karma struck back come Christmas 1983, when the mercury plunged to 5 degrees below zero.
