Chicago is one step closer to a new top cop as a panel names three finalists for Mayor Brandon Johnson to choose from. Two are longtime CPD veterans; the third is the chief of police in Madison, Wisconsin.

Ethics issues in Chicago’s City Hall according to the city’s top watchdog — from former Mayor Lori Lightfoot to the embattled Ald. Jim Gardiner (45th Ward).

Northwestern University has fired two coaches this week amid allegations of racism, hazing and bullying. Six professors are urging the school to hit pause on an $800 million upgrade.
