Thousands of asylum seekers fleeing their home countries have arrived in Chicago from the Texas border since August. The city has been providing medical care and connecting them with shelters, but there’s still a long road ahead.
We spoke with mothers and grandmothers who say they are searching for better opportunities. The city is asking for donations of new clothing items and hygiene products.
