A Chicago coffee shop is seeing a boost in business, as more people make an effort to support Black-owned businesses.
While many companies struggled during the pandemic, Chicago French Press saw sales skyrocket. The coffee brand can now be found on Amazon and in several stores, including Chicago-area Targets, which started selling the products in February.
There’s also a store in the South Loop. In addition, 5% of every bag sold supports local and national nonprofits. Founder and CEO Kris Christian reflects on the growth of her business and its success, as part of our Last Word series.
