In a motion filed Tuesday, federal prosecutors disclosed that 21-year-old Devontay Anderson had been “located and arrested” in Chicago on Monday. He faces criminal charges stemming from the April 18 shooting that left Adams dead and her father wounded.

Anderson and another man, 21-year-old Demond Goudy, had allegedly targeted Adams’ father in the shooting. According to Cook County prosecutors, the men fired dozens of rounds into Adams’ vehicle in broad daylight at a McDonald’s in the Homan Square neighborhood.

Jaslyn Adams was shot multiple times and died, while her father was struck once and survived.

Cook County prosecutors said Goudy was armed with a .40 caliber handgun while Anderson was carrying a Draco AK-47 pistol when they opened fire. After an initial volley of shots, the suspects returned to their vehicle, then went back to Adams’ car and began firing a second time, according to prosecutors.

Chicago police recovered 47 shell casings from the weapons at the McDonald’s and the FBI described the Adams’ vehicle as being “riddled” with bullets.

Anderson was charged in federal court in April with fleeing to avoid prosecution, and an arrest warrant has been filed in Cook County charging him with first-degree murder in Adams’ death.

Federal authorities said Anderson had known connections in Illinois, Indiana and Florida, and an affidavit unsealed in May revealed that a social media account linked to Anderson had  “pings” that were traced to Miami.

Goudy and 18-year-old Marion Lewis — who allegedly drove Goudy and Anderson to and from the shooting — have already been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Both remain held at the Cook County Jail without bail.
