Congressional Winners: Casten, Davis and Newman on What Lies Ahead


As of late Wednesday afternoon, Vice President Joe Biden held a narrow lead ahead of President Donald Trump in the race for the White House, with ballots still being counted in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona and Georgia.

But Tuesday’s election was hardly a banner night for Democrats around the country.

Republicans could keep control of the Senate, and the Associated Press has the GOP taking back at least five seats in what remains a Democratic majority in the House.

Joining us to discuss the latest results and their legislative agendas are:

Congressman Sean Casten, a Democrat representing Illinois’ 6th District, which covers parts of Chicago’s west and northwest suburbs. He was elected to his second term in Congress.

Congressman Rodney Davis, a Republican representing Illinois’ 13th District, which includes parts of Champaign and Sangamon counties. He won his fifth term in Congress.

And Marie Newman, a Democrat elected to her first term representing Illinois’ 3rd District, which covers parts of Chicago’s Southwest Side and some west and southwest suburbs.
