Pritzker Agenda Coming Down to the Wire
From the onset, Gov. J.B. Pritzker was specific about what he wanted to have happen during his first year in office.
The General Assembly approved one of his major initiatives, a higher statewide minimum wage, early on.
His remaining “to do” list isn’t long, per se, but it is massive, in the sense that every major item on it is controversial:
• Legalizing sports betting
•Legalizing marijuana for recreational use
•A statewide public works program
•A graduated tax constitutional amendment, plus tax brackets
•An on-time, balanced budget
