Ald. Dick Mell announced his retirement last Wednesday after nearly four decades as alderman of Chicago's 33rd ward. Rumors are swirling that his daughter, Illinois Rep. Deb Mell, is the favorite to replace him. Mell is also the father of Patti Blagojevich, the wife of disgraced former Gov. Rod Blagojevich who is currently serving a 14-year sentence in federal prison after being convicted for corruption. Carol Marin and her guests tackle Chicago’s political dynasties on Chicago Tonight at 7:00 pm. Joining Carol are Natasha Korecki, political reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times; Dick Simpson, professor of political science at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and Eric Zorn, columnist for the Chicago Tribune.
