40 Years Ago the Chicago Bears Won the Super Bowl. Look Back at the Magical Moment

Forty years ago on Jan. 26, 1986, the Chicago Bears won their first and only Super Bowl.

Fans rejoiced, having waited 26 long years since the team’s previous NFL Championship in 1963. Little did they know that would remain the team’s only Super Bowl victory for the next 40 years (and counting).

“Chicago Tonight” and host John Callaway went to New Orleans for that remarkable game, a 46-10 Bears demolition of the New England Patriots (the team on Sunday earned that franchise’s 12th Super Bowl berth). It seems the Patriots may have lost that battle but have been winning wars ever since.

As for the Bears? There’s always next season.
