Chicagoans, are you up for a challenge?
Streets and Sanitation has just announced its third annual “You Name a Snowplow” contest and let’s face it, winners in Years 1 and 2 mined a lot of the obvious territory like Sears Plower and Da Plow.
So it’s time to dig deep. No reference is too obscure, no pun too tortured, no metaphor too hackneyed.
Submissions — limited to 50 characters or less — are due by Jan. 4 or whenever entries hit 20,000, whichever comes first. (Click here for info on how to submit.)
Streets and Sanitation staff will choose 50 finalists and then open up the voting to residents on Jan. 10. People can vote for as many as six names by Jan. 21.
The top six vote-getters will be featured on one snowplow in each of the city’s six snow districts.
