35 People Shot in Chicago Over the Weekend, 15-Year-Old Is Youngest Victim: Police

According to Chicago Police Department data, 35 people were shot over the weekend in 28 separate shootings, between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
Victims ranged in age from 15 years old to 55 years old; several of the shootings resulted in multiple victims. Six of the shootings were fatal.
Among those killed was a 32-year-old man who was one of three people injured early Sunday morning in Logan Square.
The victims in that incident — the 32-year-old, a 19-year-old man and an unidentified female — were standing in the street in the 1700 block of North Harding Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. when they were fired on by an unknown offender.
The 32-year-old was shot in the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The 19-year-old is in fair condition after being shot in the leg, and the female sustained minor injuries from broken glass.
A shooting in North Lawndale on Saturday night left three people injured.
The victims were walking on the sidewalk in the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard at approximately 8 p.m. when shots were fired. A 33-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. A 22-year-old man was struck in the leg and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the groin. Both were taken to Mount Sinai in fair condition.
All of the weekend shooting incidents are still under investigation; no offenders are in custody.
