When Rahm Emanuel came into office, he said that he wanted to be the “education mayor.”
Although his tenure has been marked by a historic teachers' strike, controversial school closures and school district budgets that were shaky, at best, the mayor is touting his achievements both at Chicago Public Schools and at the City Colleges.
On Tuesday, Emanuel boasted about a new Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center at Daley College on the city's Southwest Side.
