WTTW Looks Back: 5 Decades of Interviews With the Rev. Jesse Jackson

The late Rev. Jesse Jackson may have been born in South Carolina, but he lived most of his life as a Chicagoan.

Jackson appeared on WTTW and “Chicago Tonight” dozens of times. WTTW News took a look back at some of his most memorable appearances, spanning five decades.

We start with Jackson’s appearance on WTTW marking Mayor Richard J. Daley’s death in 1976, talking about how he and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. interacted with Daley when they came to Chicago in the mid-1960s.
