Week in Review: Kimmel Suspension Sparks Free Speech Debate; Tear Gas Used Against Broadview Protesters


The abrupt suspension of late-night talk host Jimmy Kimmel has Gov. JB Pritzker warning of an existential threat to our democracy.

Kimmel was suspended after pressure from FCC Chair Brendan Carr following comments about the alleged killer of conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk.

“We are fighting for our democracy now,” Pritzker said, “and that is why people need to stand up and speak out.”
