Prepare for a Slip-and-Slide Saturday, With More Ice in the Forecast

Freezing mist and drizzle could turn sidewalks into treacherous sheets of ice on Saturday, the National Weather Service said.
For Chicagoans, that could mean a repeat of bumps and bruises suffered in falls on slippery surfaces Thursday.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for northern Illinois and northwest Indiana through 6 p.m. Saturday, with forecasters advising people to be prepared for slick conditions on any untreated surfaces.

The rest of the weekend should be dry, but then a weather pattern is expected to develop next week that could produce multiple chances for accumulating snowfall. Keep the shovels and the ice melt handy.
