The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it is investigating after a fire broke out overnight at a truck yard on Chicago’s Southwest Side.
A spokesperson for the ATF confirmed it has responded to the scene of the fire at 6850 W. 63rd St. following a request from Chicago’s fire and police departments.
The fire began at Luka Unlimited Truck sometime around 2 a.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department, where approximately eight tractor trailers were on fire. That fire was eventually extinguished and no injuries were reported.
The CFD later said it turned the scene over to the Chicago Police Department for a criminal investigation into the cause of the fire.
The ATF said it was unable to provide any additional comment as its investigation remains ongoing.
