The homicides all occurred within a matter of hours between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Officers responding to a report of shots fired found the 15-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man dead inside a vehicle in the 200 Block of West 109th Place just after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police said both victims had been shot multiple times and were both pronounced dead on scene.

The first homicide of the evening occurred at around 10 p.m. in the 11600 block of South Yale. A 30-year-old man was walking in that area when an unknown person fired multiple shots. The victim ran into a nearby yard and was seen entering a black sedan that fled westbound.

Officers later discovered the man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the right side of the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A 53-year-old man was killed while riding a CTA bus in the 4400 block of West Division Street just after 11 p.m. According to witnesses, he was waving a knife before an unknown man approached and shot him before fleeing the scene on foot. The 53-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.

A 25-year-old man was fatally shot in the 600 block of West 117th Street at around 12:20 a.m. Officers responded to that area following a report of a person shot and found the victim, who told them he’d been shot at by an unidentified person who fled on foot.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was initially hospitalized in fair condition, but he later died of his injuries.

Three other people were also killed in shootings earlier in the day Tuesday, including a pair of men who were fatally shot while driving in a vehicle in the 6800 block of South State Street.
