Early voting in all 50 wards begins March 4. The Illinois primary election is March 19.

Important Dates:

  • Early voting at select downtown locations: Feb. 15
  • Register online to vote: March 3 by 11:59 p.m.
  • Early voting in all 50 wards: March 4
  • Vote-by-mail application deadline: March 14 by 5 p.m.
  • Primary Election Day: March 19

Voters can verify their voter registration by visiting chicagoelections.gov. Voters have until March 3 to register online. Same-day registration is also available at all early voting sites and at your precinct polling place on Election Day. For same-day registration, you must show two forms of ID. At least one ID must list your current address.

The Chicago Board of Elections is also searching for more election judges, including Spanish-speaking election judges. While it already has 650 Spanish-speaking election judges out of its goal of 560, having more helps account for any resignations and no-shows on Election Day, election officials said.

“It’s much easier to go into a polling place, feeling less intimidated if someone there speaks your language, if someone there looks like you,” said Giovanna Carrillo, who handles Hispanic outreach for the Chicago Board of Elections.
