A 15-year-old boy has been charged with 11 counts of armed robbery with a firearm in connection to an early morning robbery spree in August, the Chicago Police Department announced Tuesday.
The boy, whose name is not being released because he’s a minor, was arrested Monday in the Austin community. Police said he was identified as one of the suspects who participated in nine armed robberies involving 11 victims on Aug. 20.
The robberies occurred:
- 12:30 a.m. in the 600 block of West 63rd Street; 29-year-old female victim
- 12:33 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Lake Street; 43-year-old male victim
- 1:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Central Avenue; 54-year-old male victim
- 2:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of West 79th Street; 38-year-old male victim
- 3 a.m. in the 7900 block South Racine Avenue; 39-year-old male victim
- 3:50 a.m. in the 600 block of East 79th Street; 26-year-old male victim
- 4 a.m. in the 500 block of East 79th Street; two 28-year-old female victims
- 5:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of South Ashland Avenue; 22-year-old and 24-year-old male victims
- 5:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 35th Street; 31-year-old male victim
