If you're finding it tough to leave the house on these gray and chilly days, the Chicago Park District wants to give you a little motivation. On two upcoming Saturdays, Jan. 21 and Feb. 25, you can bundle up and enjoy some winter fun at Northerly Island at Polar Adventure Days.
“Polar Adventure Days is a fun celebration of the winter,” said Ted Gross, program specialist at Northerly Island. “I think a lot of people like it because, really, it's one of the only outdoor celebrations of winter we have during a time of year when we're usually hunkering away indoors somewhere.”
The afternoon slate of programming features dog-sledding demonstrations, puppet shows, raptor visits, bonfire storytelling, arts and crafts, and of course, hot cocoa.
