Though it seems like they just opened, all lakefront beaches are now closed for swimming, with lifeguards no longer on duty, the Chicago Park District has announced.

Red flags will be flown at all locations to signal swimming is prohibited.

The park district's indoor pools will open for fall programs on Sept. 12, with spaces still available. The "Learn to Swim" class is being offered free to first-time participants ages 6 to 17. Use the code "FIRSTFREE" when registering.
