Bailey is facing incumbent Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who is Jewish, in the November election. Pritzker’s team was quick to turn the comments into a campaign ad. So how damaging will this be to Bailey’s campaign?

President Joe Biden signed an executive order on abortion Wednesday, one day after Kansas resoundingly rejected an amendment that would have restricted abortion access. Pundits are calling the 17-point loss a “political earthquake” that could shift the politics of the midterm elections. Providers are hoping that some patients will go for services in Kansas now, easing the crush Illinois abortion clinics.
